PT Berkat Niaga Dunia (Berkat Safety), a market leader in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), believes that "safety" is not just about helmets or safety shoes at a project site—it is about securing the future of the younger generation.

Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, Berkat Safety reaffirms its commitment by supporting the Feeding and Learning Center (FLC) in Tuapene, South Central Timor, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Managed by the Yayasan Tangan Pengharapan (Hand of Hope Foundation), this program aims to provide practical solutions to poverty through education and nutritional improvement.

Why NTT is a Primary Focus?

East Nusa Tenggara, particularly the South Central Timor region, faces significant challenges regarding educational access and stunting. Long distances to schools, a shortage of teaching staff, and a lack of nutritious food intake often hinder children's development.

Berkat Safety recognizes its moral responsibility to take action. Aligned with the vision of Yayasan Tangan Pengharapan, our mission is to nurture a generation that is faithful, intelligent, and characterized by strong integrity to prosper the nation. At FLC Tuapene, 43 students are currently guided by two dedicated rural teachers who work tirelessly despite the limitations.

The Story of Priska Bansoma: Counting Candlenuts to Reach Her Dreams

One of the most touching stories from the February 2026 report is that of Priska Bansoma. Priska is a 6-year-old preschool student at Tangan Pengharapan Tuapene. Behind her wide smile lies an extraordinary level of independence.

With both her parents working as migrant laborers to make ends meet, Priska lives with her grandparents. Every day, she doesn't just study at school; she helps with household chores. One iconic moment is when Priska practices counting using candlenuts being dried in the sun. While guarding the nuts from livestock, her small fingers diligently count them one by one.
